The earlier the better stands good for treating hemroids. Hemroids is a condition whereby the anus, the blood vessels around the anus and the tissues are damaged. In the beginning stages, all that may happen is minor irritation, but as this is ignored, this develops into a serious condition where it may require intensive treatments or one may have to go in for surgery for getting some relief from hemroids.
Some of the common methods for treating hemroids are:
(a) Removal of the blood clot: Generally the affected portion may have some blood clotting which is causing intense pain. This needs to be surgically removed by a physician. This procedure is generally done by the physician in his clinic under local anesthesia.
(b) Band ligation: This is another very popular technique to remove hemroids. The lumps, that are caused as a result of hemroids, causes pain and one is unable to pass stools. To ease pain these lumps needs to be surgically removed or they have to dry out. The procedure involves putting bands over the blood vessels that are connecting the lumps there by cutting off the blood supply to these lumps. This causes shrinkage of the lumps and they dry out. This eases pain to a very large extent. This procedure can be done with out hospitalization from the doctor’s clinic.
(c) Injection therapy: This is also widely followed across the world for treatment of hemroids as this is one method that is quite successful for treating multiple hemroids. In this method, certain hardening agents are injected into the affected area and this causes the circulation of blood to these lumps to stop. Once the blood stops flowing there then the size of the hemroids automatically reduces.
(d) Coagulation method: Here the hemroids are subjected to electric current or infrared light rays to burn out the hemroids. Continuous treatment is necessary after which this hemroids may shrink and disappear after some time.
(e) Hemorrhoidectomy: This is one of the most complicated methods for treating hemroids and is recommended only for patients in advanced stages of hemroids. By this method of treatment one can get the hemroids both internal and external removed. One may have to make use of general anesthesia for getting treatment from hemroids under this method. This method of treatment also requires hospitalization for a longer period of time than any other methods of treatment. If anything goes wrong during treatment of hemroids by this procedure, then it may resulting heavy bleeding and scaring.
None of the methods mentioned above can be done by one self and they are procedures that need to be done under medical supervision. Other than this one can also go in for application of creams and other products that are available over the counter.
Make use of standard creams and jellies that are approved by the FDA. This ensures that you are safe and do not end up with infections from other sources. |
