Hemroids is an infection that affects the anus. The anus being the most private part of the body, one is likely to feel ashamed when this part gets affected. Some similar other problems that are caused to the anus are fistula, fissure, condylomata, abscess & viral skin infections.
The internal hemroids usually occur as four stages as first, second, third, and the fourth of which the fourth is the advanced stage and may require a surgical operation while the first three stages can be treated with the rubber banding methods. Follow a good and healthy diet. Include a lot of fibrous fruits and vegetables. Let your supplement of meals contain Psyllium and methylcellulose supplementary fibers. They are good to maintain smooth and regular flow of stool.
What you should keep away from is fast foods and junk foods. They are likely to contain more spices and are certain to be fried which are one of the leading causes for hemroids.
Have at least five liters of water a day. This will help you in maintaining you physique and at the same time will help with regulation of stool from your body.
In case you are affected by hemroids extra care should be taken to protect your body. To reduce pain one can use an iodine bath or use gels or other creams prescribed by your doctor. Take a regular course of antibiotics if prescribed by your doctor. This will help you if you are infected by bacterial problems caused by damaged nerve endings.
Corticosteroids are very useful in treating itching, however prolonged usage of these medications are not advised.
Other different methods of treating hemroids include Sclerotherapy, legation, electrotherapy and infrared photocoagulation. Of these the most popular methods of treatment is legation; but this is a treatment that is not advised for patients suffering from cancer, AIDS and diabetes.
In spite of all these methods of treatment available, there are certain other treatments that are classified under alternative methods of treatment. These are also effective and some of them claim that they are a permanent cure for hemroids, though there is no supporting documented evidence for the same.
